Winter is at full force up here in Oslo, and I´m so over it and then some. My gorgeous loafers are screaming at me from the vast, dusty depths of my closet and I´m dreaming of feeling the sun warm my face and having bare asphalt under the soles of my ballerinas. Somewhere in between being inclined to give up and “I’ll show King Winter who is boss” I try to make the best of these months and dress for the part aka “too old to be cold”.
One thing I’ll do is wearing my items on repeat - this is partially because I get very attached to my favorites, but also because winter weather here in Norway puts a pretty heavy restriction on what you can actually wear. Bulky oversized blazers are not too comfy when worn under your winter coat and no matter how careful you are there is just no way of navigating those icy roads in sneakers or heels. This means that my winter formula mostly consists of the same 3-4 pairs of boots, various knits, a pretty standard pant situation and hopefully a great piece of outerwear.
Dopamine dressing to beat the winter blues: 1: Fleece jacket here, boots and jeans as before, a great Chanel option here. 2: Fur here, hat here, a zebra bag option here, denim here, Vans here. 3: Same jacket, jeans and hat as before, bag here. 4: Jacket here, bag here, belt here, boots here, sunglasses here, denim skirt here or here.
Favorites on repeat, but styled in different ways duh. 1: Fur here, cap here, red boots as before, trousers here. 2: The perfect brown coat here (my own design), detachable fur collar that can be worn a million different ways, same pants as before, great vintage tee alternatives here. 3: Same coat, same pants as before, my very favorite cashmere scarf, hat here, striped shirt here, sneakers here. 4: Chanel tote alternative, boots and jeans you’ve seen before, same goes for the collar, but it also comes in brown, boots you know, a great yellow blazer option.
I’ll continue to paddle through until spring finally arrives, but man oh man I can´t WAIT for what we call “little shoes weather” up where I come from.
